Gail DiBiase Books will be at this festival/craft show. This event supports the Portland Children's Dyslexia Center!
I love children and children’s books! It is my goal to ignite a love of reading great books and to stimulate their imaginations and educate their minds.
Being a Children's Author I am thrilled to be a part of this event. How sad if a child has this learning disability and is unable to enjoy reading, listening to, or understanding stories.
Dyslexia?
Dyslexia is a learning disability in which the brain processes information from written and spoken language in a different way. This results in difficulty connecting letters and written words with sounds and oral language. When dyslexia is explained, it is important to note that it does not indicate low intelligence or poor effort, but it often causes students to struggle in school. If it is not identified and intervention is not offered, students with dyslexia can feel embarrassed, have low self-esteem, and perform poorly in school. Dyslexia can affect reading, writing, spelling, and even oral language. It is the most common learning disability, affecting up to 20% of the population to some degree. Dyslexia is not, as some might think, simply reversing letters. Dyslexia cannot be cured, but people with dyslexia can and do learn to read, although it may require intervention and accommodations.

So excited to be part of the Greater Gorham Winter Market November thru March. Definitely an answer to prayers. I will be at the Shaw Gym the 1st and 3rd Saturday monthly, 9AM - 1PM.
I will be selling and signing all of my children's books. I have 10 I have written, illustrated and self-published.
My Maine animal stories Moose, Lobster, Black Bear and Seal, they are rhyming stories with many facts about the animal.
My seagull story is about a silly Maine Seagull, Thomas Emerson the Maine coon cat, learns he still hates water, cause it is wet.
My Clyde Joseph books are adorable books about a duck who likes to stomp in mudpuddles but doesn't like dirt on his feet and Momma doesn't like dirt on the floor. She surprises him with a pair of bright rain puddle boots with blue stripes. Clyde Josephs birthday surprise is about a surprise party for Clyde Joseph, it had been a year since he hatched! what fun!
I also have a couple fun books for a bit younger littles, Counting Frogs in the swim pond with Clyde Joseph, and a book Colors to help with recognizing colors with Clyde Joseph.
Come check them out!! #author #childrensstories #childrensauuthor #rhyming stories #educational #market #signingbooks

Hi my Friends, I forgot to tell everyone something that happened to me at the last craft fair I was at. I always let kids check out my display books. So this young boy, he said he was 11. Anyway, I told him to feel free to look at my books on display. He chooses one of my animal books, these books are rhyming stories with facts about the animal. As he was reading it he said something that grew my heart three sizes that day!
He was leaning on the wall reading and he said your books are like Dr.Seuss'. He could not have complimented me more. I was thrilled that an 11yr old was making that comparison. Dr. Sauss' is my inspiration when it comes to rhyming fun.
If only I could be so lucky! #author #childrensstories #childrensauuthor #rhyming stories #drsauss #educational
Hi Folks,
Things are busy here. Going from the sitting on Casco Bay to sitting at craft fairs and markets all while trying to finish up a couple books that are in the works. I had a good day at the craft fair at Shaw Gym this past Saturday.
be so lucky
However, I need to get back to my pool therapy. I have been having a time with sciatica and just pushing through it. Sometimes, especially when walking a lot it will bother me at night.
I am excited to be finishing my newest book which is about Princess Penelope Puffin who rescues a mermaid that got beached during a bad storm.
I am just about finished with illustrations. Hopefully I will publish it in a week or two. I will keep you posted.
I think it will be a popular addition to my published collection. Here are a couple of my illustrations!!
My New Website,
I have had a great summer and fall selling my Children's books as a street artist down on Commercial Street. So blessed that the city of Portland allows us artists this opportunity. There are rules but as long as a street artist abides by them and provided, they are the creators of the things they sell and have a state tax number, no one really bothers us.
I will be across from Dimillos in front of LeRoux Kitchen when weather is warm enough. I will be there tomorrow.
I am a bit sad as the weather in Maine turns colder and my time remaining outside selling is coming to an end for the 2024. Just a few ships remaining for this season.
I do have a few craft fairs I will be selling at I will keep you posted on those dates which are in late Nov.
I have sold and autographed all my books when sold and chatted with folks from all over the world, and my books have traveled worldwide, which thrills me to death. I remember when I was first selling my books, I felt a bit embarrassed to ask if they wanted me to autograph it. But felt more at ease as my books sold and people were asking me to sign their book and if they could take pix of me to show their little. Now I sign everyone I sell in person.
I am really enjoying my life as a Children's Book Author. I look forward to reading at schools and libraries in the future months.
